Light Against Dark
Manage the Darkness — a rising dial, not a timer. Push it back with light, or feed it for power. The higher it climbs, the harder the world fights back. You never lose to the dark itself — only to falling.
Enemies That Learn
Survive an elite and it remembers you — and feeds that memory to the boss, which arrives wearing every lesson its lieutenants learned. Elites and bosses also flip mid-fight, changing the rules just when you thought you had them.
Trades & Tags
Play a hero, lean into an archetype, and splash a trade — Hunter or Blacksmith — to build a deck no two players assemble the same. More heroes and trades arrive in later sets.

How to Play
Rylio is a cooperative card game where 1–4 heroes face a darkening world. Each round you roll the enemies' intents, take your turn, then weather what answers — building a deck and a hero across a campaign of linked quests.
Quick Start (5 steps)
- 1Choose your hero. The Core Box has Elaris (Ranger) and Kael (Knight); more heroes arrive in later sets. Optionally splash a Trade — Hunter or Blacksmith.
- 2Set the road. Lay out the Quest's Journey — a path of Dark (fight) and Light (event/rest/merchant/warband) nodes — and read the Quest's intro aloud. Set Darkness to its starting value (usually 0).
- 3Take your deck. Start with your hero's 10-card deck and shuffle, then draw 5. Your deck grows as you draft cards from fights across the quest.
- 4Each round, in three steps. (1) Roll a d6 for each enemy to see its intent. (2) Your turn — draw 5, spend up to 3 stamina playing cards, then discard your hand. (3) Enemies act as shown. Reshuffling your deck mid-fight feeds the Darkness.
- 5Reach the boss. Clear the road's fights, then face the Quest boss — which inherits every Memory the elites fed it. Defeat it to win the Quest and carry your grown deck into the next.
Goal: Defeat each Quest's boss. You don't lose to Darkness — only if all heroes Fall. Darkness is a difficulty dial: the higher it climbs, the harder the fights. Keep what you earn — deck, upgrades, gold, items, faction standing — across the campaign.
